College graduates on average earn more during their working years than their non-degree-holding counterparts. But some fields are more lucrative than others.
And while money isn’t the only driver of job satisfaction, lower-earning workers are likely to regret their choice of major, according to ZipRecruiter, a job search engine.
In a monthly survey of job seekers, ZipRecruiter found that 44% of respondents regretted their choice of college major. Within each field, highly compensated respondents were more likely to report being satisfied with their choice.
For respondents who regretted their major, the top majors they wish they had chosen instead are computer science (13%) and business administration (11%), according to the survey.
Overall, the workers least likely to wish for a different major were in computer and information sciences, criminology, engineering and nursing.
