The head of retirement research at Carson Group, as well as the managing director of Carson Coaching and managing partner of wealth solutions, Jamie Hopkins explains why advisors should be flexible when it comes to the traditional asset allocation of 60% stocks and 40% bonds and says advisors may want to consider adding a retirement-income floor for clients. The 4%-a-year retirement withdrawal rule should not be seen “as gospel,” according to Hopkins, who points out that advisors could look at working with outside marketing organizations to gain access to fee-based income products.
