Meet the FPA's New President
Claudia Cypher Kane, CFP, now leads the group and its 17,000 members. She's been an advisor since 1985.
The Financial Planning Association says Claudia Cypher Kane, CFP, is the organization’s new president for 2024. Kane recently wrapped up a four-year term on the FPA Board of Directors.
She also served in 2022 as treasurer and head of the finance committee for the FPA, which has some 17,000 members nationwide.
“FPA has been an influential force in my career by providing me with a community of professionals who are eager to share best practices and experiences that have shaped my practice of financial planning,” Kane said in a statement. “I’m eager to work to support the association’s mission and vision while providing our members and chapters with an indispensable experience that will support them in their careers and businesses.”
Kane is an independent advisor affiliated with Raymond James Financial Services. She became an advisor in 1985 and is based in Roseville, California, where she focuses on financial planning, strategic asset allocation and tax-efficient money management for individuals, fiduciaries and small businesses.
The advisor also has led the FPA of Northern California chapter and FPA of California. In addition, she’s done exam writing for the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards and the Investments and Wealth Institute.
“I hope to use this platform over the next year to encourage more financial planners to engage in service to others, whether through volunteer leadership, engaging in pro bono financial planning, or building the financial wellness of underserved communities,” Kane added.
